In vitro macrophage infection with bacteria?

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to do an in vitro macrophage infection with bacteria. I still do not know what kind of species I will be using, still haven't decided. those macrophages will be later co-cultered with a cancerous cell line.

If any one have done this type of experiments before, especially the macrophage infection, please let me know what kind of things to consider and focus on. A protocol will be very helpful to start with.
