First, we are conducting preparatory work for the construction of GSOM Lagrangian model in formulating the problem posed; then its resolution by the numerical resolution method based on the scheme of Godunov; through a transformation of Eulerian coordinates into Lagrangian coordinates. Then, we introduce the methodology adopted for the new numerical resolution for intersection modeling in Lagrangian coordinates, as well as some simulation results obtained.
The solutions to these all important VANETs applications to road intersection using either microscopic and macroscopic models, require multi-sectorial approach and collaboration across nations.
First, we need to limit each of these models on a specific road networks (i.e. either two-lane networks or Four-road networks) to perform a comprehensive microscopic and macroscopic analysis to ascertain the differences in network spatial temporal variations inherent in various parameters. The information derived from these analysis would help decide whether to use microscopic or macroscopic traffic models at the intersection.
Second, It should be noted with great concerns that using the microscopic traffic flow model is very expensive than using macroscopic traffic flow model. Depending upon the resources available would informed the types of traffic models to be used to mitigate the problem at the intersection of the road networks.
Finally, the parametric effects would help decide which of the parameter (s) should be held constant and which to be made variable based on the scenario under the two traffic flow models proposed.

Verizon smart city business unit is developing an intersection model using a method of describing the whole intersection by breaking it down into an arbitrary number of polygons and assigning attributes using a standard markup language that allows the expression of terms like geo-location, directionality of travel allowed from an arbitrary side of a polygon to another arbitrary side, etc.. The language is extensible and can express concepts of permissible speed, type of vehicles and/or pedestrians permitted, directionality of travel not allowed, dwell times allowed, yield characteristics, etc. .
Further, by using these models in edge computing video analytic devices installed at the mapped intersections, the real-time and historical picture of traffic behavior in the intersection can be quickly,accurately and continuously built. Further analytics on this traffic behaviour databases can be used to create better intersection signal timing plans, driver and pedestrian education, etc.
