We are trying to sample PMMA's combustion products and are looking into the amount of MMA in the "smoke". We are looking into air sampling possibilities that don't involve the desorption of MMA in a solvent. Our instrument is capable of direct thermal desorption, so if we sample on Tenax, we can desorb it in the instrument using a flow of hot helium. However, it seems like Tenax is not a suitable sampling medium for MMA. We have also tried quartz wool and glass beads with little success. Do you have a recommendation for a suitable sampling media?
