My mastermix was over due to some proplems that happened so i need to buy new one..but I didn't find the same trade name..can I use another ? And can i compare results of both ?
It is generally not preferred to change the master mix make. In case you have to change the master mix, you should run few reactions for the control samples using the new master mix and check whether the ct values are different or same to the values obtained for that sample using the previous master mix. If you don't see a change. Then you can use the new make. Hope this helps.
Yes you can use different master mix from different companies and even different fluorophres (like Sybr gold or kappa) but with caution! As Qin Qi mentioned, you need to be careful with the control reactions. The variation in Ct can be normalized if you have used all the appropriate controls like RT-, multiple internal standards and have checked the Primer efficiency with your new master mix.
