I have performed FE simulation of tensile test by using 2 yield criteria, first is Von mises and other is Hill's 1948 yield criteria (including r-values of all 3 directions) ?
Upon using Von mises criteria, questions have raised that anisotropy has not been included ?
So, which criteria is to be used in FE simulation of tensile test

Could you report on which materials you are modeling? If the simulated material is steel, then the behavior is pretty much isotropic, and thus von Mises would be applicable to choose. However, if you are simulating timber or wood, then the most suitable criterion to pick is the Hills yield criterion to capture the anisotropy or orthotropy in three distinct directions. In a tensile test, the stress is uniaxial and no equivalent stress is needed.
