It is a common practice to use regression analysis for testing hypothesis in behavioral science research using questionnaire survey method. However, I haven't come across any paper or dissertation explecitly specifying models like Y = a + b1*X1+b2*X2+b2*X3 in the methodology and/or results section/chapter. However, it is a common practice in finance and economics research. Are there any specific reasons for not writing eqations like this in behavioral science research or it is simply a disciplinary practice?
