Arthritic induction is required by the protein rich in joints.
Currently Im using Type-II collagen in the tail, it appears to have been successful!! Of course the type-II collagen was compounded with freunds adjuvant however.
To be exact the type of arthritis im trying to generate is rheumatoid arthritis :)

Rheumatoid arthritis does not occur in mice by definition. It is a human disease. If you want to produce something with similar pathogenic steps in mice then you need to decide which steps you are interested in. There is no way of producing the whole process. As far as we know the critical immunoregulatory changes in human RA have never been modelled in mice and probably never will. Collagen II arthritis has nothing to do with RA except that is destroys joints as far as I am concerned. Unfortunately a lot of laboratory workers are under the misapprehension that you can induce 'RA' or 'OA' in mice. If it is not clear to you why this is absurd I think you need to think a bit more about what it might actually mean. Almost all work on 'animal models of arthritis' is rubbish. I say that as someone who thirty years ago was regarded as an expert on animal models (I wrote/edited two books on it) - I then realised they were a waste of time and very hard to justify ethically. Why on earth would you want to induce RA in mice anyway? There are plenty of people with it.

That reply is nothing short of sheer brilliance. Outstanding!! I am not being sarcastic, because what you have said, I ask myself everyday. To be very honest your absolutely right, there is NO clear cut proof that the changes occurring are truly an accurate depiction of the systemic disease that Rheumatoid Arthritis represents. When we talk about 'models' its as if we are certifying the patho-physiological changes that have occurred and hence being expressed in an animal. For one we dont even know the pathogenesis of RA fully, so how we will induce it in a animal is questionable I agree. However, for someone whose just a finishing a MS project so he can do some actual research in an institution where ethics and quality biological research are a norm, I only have lack of funding or the possibility to perform better research as my defence. To be honest, anything else wouldnt be the truth. I want to work on in vitro tissue development for testing later on in my PhD, so that we can get good riddance of vivisection. And T2C goes a little further by producing spleenomegaly as well. Anyway, I am inducing RA as a part of my MS research to evaluate the therapeutic effects of a plant Cinnamomum verum. This will be the last time i'll ever attempt such barbarism, I assure you.
