So if I am answering a question in regards to neuron development, since it has different stages and therefore different research papers, in order to conduct a systematic review do I have to select papers with a specific focus for example only looking at the proliferation aspect Or am i allow to combine multiple papers together and discuss the various stages?

This depends very much on your objectives, I think. For the review to be systematic you must clearly define your inclusion/exclusion criteria _before_ the literature search and make sure you include all studies that fit these criteria. I tend to think reasonably small and focused reviews are superior to very broad and extensive reviews. But, that said, all pertinent studies should be included, and the more studies you can include on your focused research question, the better.
Hi Carla Amado I suggest you add your question and set the primary outcome, which will addresss the research question, about neutron development as you have mentioned. What you can do to include more outcomes about these different stages, and these outcomes will be secondary outcomes. They will be related to the primary (main) outcome, however will be secondary.

It mainly depends on your study and your decision. If the number of the studies is not great enough, you can extend the inclusion criteria.
