a friend of mine did a literature review on a subject, including all original articles referring to it within a period of 5 years. She also used 2 books for the introduction in order to refer to the established theory. How can she state it in the methods section?

Citation of book requires the book author.
You can cite directly using quoting "" or you refer to the author like,
Author's name (publication year) noted that the best rock for dimension stone cutting is that with no fracture or discontinuity.
For exam, if Taiwo is the name of the book author. Citing an information from it can be like,
Taiwo (2020) estimated the powder factor for granite as 1.5-1.7kg/m3.
Or
According to Taiwo (2020), the best powder factor to assure good fragmentation without overbreak during granite blasting is 1.8kg/m3.
You can also choose to quote an information directly from the book.
Like,
Taiwo (2020) indicated that "Powder factor is the ratio of explosive weight to the total volume of rock fragmented".
