Dear Colleagues
New impact factors of different journals have been announced........Some journals got hype (those with fancy titles)....Some remains unchanged (regular ones) and some got disappointed (some important one's which were hoping an increase)................Are the impact factors are real measure for 'Scientific Excellence'? If YES then Science is more going towards management. If NO then why the impact factors play an important role in general evaluation process? I understand neither......Frank opinion about the same is welcome..........
Also....JCR has got almost a MONOPOLY in this regard, why do not we have another one for comparison? SCOPUS can also do that..............
