I have literature review of the article which there long discuss of the materials have functional group, have conductivity of the materials I must know.. whether the materials have conductivity is high or low?.. which base the materials calculate the conductivity in the material science?
If it is possible to plot the graphs of the DC conductivity as a function of frequency for different temperatures, it is possible to extract the activation energy and from this information know the mechanism involved. With the existence of more functional groups it is possible that the conductivity is highest, which would contribute to the mechanisms involved.
There is certainly no general answer to your question, it depends both on the material and on the functional groups considered. If the bulk material is highly conducting, it can be expected that functional groups act as barriers and therefore lower the overall conductivity, but poorly conducting or semiconducting materials can see their conductivity improved by functional groups, for example disordered carbons have higher electronic conductivity after doping with nitrogen.
