poverty is relative. Except in certain areas and in certain periods extreme poverty is limited. e.g; industrial revolution in Europe. However, the principle of distributive justice provides a balance to the unfair effects of liberalism (one of the conditions of freedom). To a certain extent there is a trade-off between liberty and equality. Moreover, for an emerging country, the Kunetz curve seemingly imply an increase in relative poverty.
