I am coupling this question with photon traps. Normally photons get absorbed quickly. I was wonder why the walls which are reasonably reflecting do not make the number of photons as time integral of the rate or wattage of source (even a laser) which injects photons. In other words, some particles are constantly pumped into a closed box which has no exit route, the number of particles continues to increase with time, but not the light intensity. It has an intensity which is static and zero the moment (roughly) you switch off. How can we trap and integrate the photons?
