I have made a plant extract in methanol, but for my final assay I don't want methanol instead I need water as the solvent. If after extracting the components in Methanol and after drying this in rotavopor, I add water in it, will the active components extracted get mixed in water or not?

You should aware about the your interest of component will come into water (mean solubility), as you stated that you want to use water as a solvent for your assay of that particular component. If it comes in to water, yes you certainly can use, but you can claim the assay for methanol extract of your plant only. (Because the source is methanol extract of plant).
why can t you use water extract of plant as such, when you are interested water as a solvent. then you can claim assay of that particular component for plant as whole.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Actually I want to quantify the amount of compounds that has been extracted, which can be done in case of methanol as it can be dried by rotavopor but the same can't be done with water. If you can suggest any methods by which water can be dried without reaching high temperatures.
