Polymer coatings don't have a pronounced effect on the position of absorption maxima. The only effect that a polymer can make is that you will have less absorbance (I mean the intensity). The peak width corresponds to the size distribution. But if there is some aggregation because of the polymer, then you might get a red shift in absorption maxima.
