I have o lot of Tabanids from Annaba area (Algeria) to identify. Some of them can be identified by the Chvala et al. (1972) key of European horse-flies. But I have a lot of Atylotus or Haematopota specimens which are not in the European fauna. I have not found, for example, complete descriptions of Atylotus farinosus, A. kroeberi or Haematopota algira or H. crewei.
Can you give me some advice.

Many thanks for your answer. You will be of a great help. The specimens have been sent to me by an Algerian student. She put them in alcohol and they are not in very good condition. I will sort them out and send you some of them. The student will come in my lab next January/February and she could use the identified specimens as a reference.

There are few references available for different species of tabanids. One article on Norwegian Tabanidae might help a bit. Besides that there were few works on Tabanidae like Leclercq, M. (1963).
