I have been working on microorganisms from caves and I wanted to understand which Diversity Indice I should use - Simpson Index or Shannon-Wienner Index. Does it make sense to work on both as one gives me the answer to relative abundance and the other the species richness.

I also wanted to understand if it is relevant to do a Species Evenness on microbial data? This is something that I would like to try and I wanted some opinions.
