I'm studying phosphate (Pi) stress response in plant and hence, in the course of the experiment, I will need to quantify the level of Pi in both -ve and +ve control. but some of the methods I came across requires heating a large plant sample.
There are sensitive colorimetric reagents for phosphate detection that use ammonium molybdate combined with Malachite Green dye. They can measure phosphate concentrations down to about 1 micromolar and can be done in a 1-cm cuvette or a microplate.
