The electrochemical performances of the synthesized P2-type NaCoO2 cathode materials were investigated using R-2032-coin cells. The cathode slurry comprised active material (NaCoO2, 80%), super carbon (10%) and 10% polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) as a binder, dissolved in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solvent and homogenized using a THINKY planetary mixer.
You can't, unfortunately. PVDF-HFP is a copolymer, and even if you had the means and right procedure to depolymerize it (not easy) you would then have (after difficult monomer separation) to regenerate the PVDF. You need to get yourself real PVDF.

As Emanuel Cooper indicates, it is not possible to separate PVDF from the copolymer. A long time ago, in my laboratory we wanted to do something like this so as not to have to wait to receive the reagent, and the result was disastrous.
