What is the composition of the alloy? Typically the Bi-Sn system forms two distinct phases in the solid state. Could it be that if you try peak-fitting the system goes for a crystal lattice that fits all peaks, while they come from two different lattices?
Hello Ludger. Thank you for the suggestion. Yes I was trying to fit all the peaks. You are right. I should identify peaks for Bi and Sn separately and proceed. I will be in touch. Thank you again. The composition was 30% Bi.
This is a typical error when we use only mathematic fits; any diffraction pattern needs previously a physical interpretation and then the use mathematical tools.
