I have synthesized Bi-Sn alloy and for peak fitting , the value of a, b and c are found to have values between 20 & 25 A. Any explanation please?

Bismuth has rhombohedral lattice with a = 4.75 A & tin has a tetragonal structure with a = 5.82A & c = 3.17A.

The vickers hardness for Bi is almost double than that for tin. Should the hardness of the BiSn alloys therefore increase Bi concentration?

We had used the zone melting method for preparation of BiSn alloys having varying proportions of each component.
