Hi, give it try on culture media test on the lab to check its efficacy on the pathogen , mix the oil with media culture with different concentration like 1,2,4,6% and check the inhibition effect on the mycelia.
You can use wells method, prepare your culture media (PDA) and pour it on a petri dish. Use cork borer to make holes on the media and the add different concentration of your oil i.e. 2%,4%,6%,8%. Used a synthetic fungicide as a positive control and water as a negative control in different holes made on the media and then inoculate the media with the fungus. Measure and the record the zone of inhibition with respect to each treatment and don't forget to replicate them. All the best
Methilated rape oil (commercial name Toil) at a concentration of 1.5% together with some registrated active ingredients acts as insecticides against the overwintering forms of San Jose scales, aphids and mites eggs in fruit growing.
Dear Phumelela Peace Mwelasi , You have not mentioned where do you want to evaluated means either in field or in Lab. The concentrations will be adjusted according to Lab/field evaluation.
In the Lab you should use minute concentration but for field your concentrations must be higher as compared to Lab and Greenhouse experiments.
