I found out from the literature that one of the modified strains of E.Coli has overexpressed phosphorylase. How can I confirm the strain capability?

I am working on the literature for the maltodextrin phosphorylase. I found that the E.Coli K-12 Mg 1655 strain is a more potent strain. I want to confirm the potential of the strain through PDB, or genebank or some other means prior to acquiring the strain from the ATCC. Can anyone help in this regard?
