therefore: Area sample = Amount in Sample Area Standard 1000 ppm
(1000ppm x Area sample / area standard) = Sample (ppm)
I don't get the fact that the STD is 1000ppm. I am calculating is 10ppm?

I guess the standard shoud come to 10000 ppm and not 1000.
100 mg /100 ml = 1 mg/ml concentration. then 1 ml is taken and diluted to 100 ml. This means 1 mg in 100 ml ie 1mg/100ml.
ppm is parts per 1,000,000.
so (1mg/100ml)x(1,000,000/1,000,000) = 10,000 mg/1,000,000 ml thus 10,000 ppm.
