I am validating my small scale physical model test on plaxis. In model tests there is reduction in lateral capacity after giving some numbers of cyclic loading but in plaxis there is no reduction in the capacity. I tried with both mohr-coulomb and HS Small but was not able to simulate on PLAXIS 3D. Anyhow can we degrade the lateral resistance offered by sand with number of cycles in Plaxis?

You have not mentioned the soil condition in which the pile is installed. I feel you have to work with soil softening model which is available in PLAXIS software. The stiffness of the soil is degraded for the pile under cyclic lateral loading and softening model is capable of simulating such kind of response..i also recommend you to collect literature related to the problem..ok all the best..
Karthigeyan . S , thank you for your response sir. I am working with cohesionless soil and for that i am not able to find the proper constitutive model. Though there is literature for implicit modelling but that is suitable for larger number of cycles. As I have given only 50 number of cycles so explicit solution and their implementation in Plaxis is my concern.

To predict nonlinear response you have to apply the load with larger number of cycles and PLAXIS accept with any number of cycles..however, you should understand the importance of number of load steps and decide accordingly..ok all the best..
