You could put a thin coating of hydrated silica or alumina on the particle to prevent further addition or depletion of material from the core surface, but this would likely defeat the use of the core material as a drug. A digestable solid coating might work if the product is to be used in a pill to be swallowed.. Please donate any royalties for this clever idea to the American Chemical Society.
