I am trying to model a dynamic centrifuge test using FLAC 2D software. After cycling the model, when I try to generate history files the page is just frozen. will this be a problem of available memory? for small projects I am able to carry out the operation quite easily.
I am using v7.0. Thank you for your answer. I was able to solve the problem by clearing the memory of the pc I have been using.
Thankyou. Will it make a difference if I use hist nstep 500 in the history files?

my opinion " hist nstep 100" is enough in dynamic analysis
Hi Anusree,
Having a very low nstep value, say 1, will direct FLAC to save histories every step, which will make the .sav files larger. If you have a very large nstep then the .sav files will be smaller, but you will lose accuracy in the histories. (Imagine defining a sine wave with only 4 points for example). Hist nstep =100 is reasonable, it is what I usually start with.
