We are evaluating the intrinsic factor antibody method. The intrinsic factor antibodies do not correlate well with the Beckman method in use in our sister lab. Of course this does not mean that one or the other is “incorrect”, but it is in keeping with the idea that the ThermoFisher method is more specific in that we had fewer positives than the Beckman method. However, because the “test” method (ThermoFisher) doesn’t correlate with the “reference” method (Beckman) we need to provide an explanation of this in order to close off our validation. Do you have any information on it?
