Now I am interested in reproduction in moles. I would like to try measuring seasonal volume change in their reproductive organ, especially Leydigh cells. I will first try staining paraffin sections in testis of rats or mice. Does anybody know good marker (anti-body) for Leidig cells immnuostaining? Please advice me anything about Leydig cell staining.
There are several markers for example;
StAR, Insl3, 3 beta-HSD, c-kit, Cyp17, and Cyp11a1
Depend of the conditions of the experiment
Cyp17 and Cyp11a1 express only in the prenatal stage
c-kit does express in adult stage in the cell surface of both A1 differentiated spermatogonia inside somniferous tubules and Leydig cells outside the tubules.
I recommend you to start with StAR (CST, #8449) and kit (R&D, AF1356).
