I was fortunate enough to have collected 38 specimens of Hypostomus plecostomus from the San Felipe Creek in Del Rio, Texas. On the way back one passed. It was only a couple of days trip when he was put into an alcohol bath. When I dissected it; there was no identifiable organ structure. There was however a mass of brownish liquid when I opened the abdominal cavity. Is it normal for the organs to disintegrate so rapidly or placing it into the alcohol aid in the process. Please let me know.
