However, procedures involving PMMA utilize a moist phase; during the acid dissolution phase, when the material is trying to move to the mica substrate, the substrate is damaged and becomes damaged. Dry transfer utilizing PDMS results in the mica becoming adhered to the transfer agent, impeding its detachment from the surface.
