Hi. I am conducting an experiment and I would like to understand if people would be willing to share a 4-seat vehicle with people they do not know. I have thought that the personal tendency of trusting other people might be an important factor. What kind of construct would you suggest to measure this? Would you have any suggestions in terms of other factors that might influence willingness to share a vehicle for a (short, e.g. 10-15 mins or less) journey?
I am also considering the BFI-10 construct to measure personality, but I would like to include another factor. Thanks!
Thank you Daniela for this nice problem. I think people are essentially good creatures. They are smart and reasonable. Almost all are reliable. However, we evaluate our species based on the few bad examples. I think that factors such as meeting different people, helping and socializing come to the forefront during the journey. A few people I care about the most in my life are the people I've been taking a bus ride with. However, I would like to travel with people I do not know if I travel with my private vehicle. There will be many things I can learn from them. They may have a lot to learn from me. The risk that one can take to live these beauties is absolutely acceptable. Love and peace with people and life is perhaps the key to every good thing. I wish you to add positive values to our scientific world and life like this beautiful question, Daniela.
