My advice is, buy Olympus. I am working in microscopy lab and collaborate directly with Japanese companies-makers; in my experience, Nikon people can't offer good support of their equipment because their soft has bugs. We have encountered several times problems with their software when the shutter of the microscope doesn't synchronize, or when the beams don't work at all.

With Olympus, we never had any issues, and their microscopes (in my opinion) are of better quality overall. In addition, their support is excellent.
