Do u mean determination or pretreatment?

If pre-treatment. Prior to analysis，the plant samples (power) were digested using a mixture of concentrated HNO3/HClO4 (at a 1:1 ratio) on a hotplate until the solution clarified. The digested samples were then cooled and diluted to 25 ml with deionized water.

If determination. The matals can identified using High-resolution Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (HR-ICP-AES).

If the heavy metals are bonded to plant extract then it might be decomposed to nitric acid or sulfuric acid to collect them as their respective salt and then their quantity can also be measured. However,if the heavy metals exist as free metal ion, the can be separated by means of column chromatography or ion chromatography.
