In any direction of loading, fibre gives the higher strength along its length. In the lateral or transverse direction to the fibre, polymer alone has its strength of very low value like 80 MPa. So along the fibre length, GFRP will give a maximum of 1800 MPa and CFRP of 3000 MPa for 60% fibre volume fraction. If strength is needed in all the directions, fibre must be placed in these directions.
1. uniaxial is simple tensile test, load is shared by fibers, the fibers will fail on application of load along with matrix. the sample shows more value of stress
2. bi axial test, load will be shared by fibers and matrix, fiber fails first , matrix also fails along with fibers, matrix mail fail much earlier then fibers, the sample show lesser value of stress
