The IT enabled era has witnessed wider dissemination of knowledge form one corner to another. But as the same time it has posed numerous threats for protecting your Intellectual Property. For this I request my RG friends to suggest ways and means for protecting one’s Intellectual Property. Please answer in the light of following hypothetical case:

One paper has been published by “X-Author” in a Journal in 2012 and the paper is on-line for wider academic usage.

The same paper has been Copied (100%) and got published by “A-Author” in 2015 in and Edited Book having Three Editors (the book is the outcome of Conference Proceedings and the Conference was organized by “B-Society”). The book is published by “C-Publisher”.

In such a case what remedies are available to the original author i.e. “X-Author” against:

1 The “A-Author” who copied the paper and got published in his/her own name;

2 The Editors of the Book;

3 The Conference Organizers; and

4 The publisher who published the Conference Proceedings in the form of Edited Book.

Your reply will be of great use to minimise Academic Frauds and protect our Intellectual Property.
