After I solved the SWEs using DG method, I want to visualize the numerical result by ArcMap. I want to write the result to a shape file (point type) containing the velocity (u, v) of each node.
However, I find a problem. For the nodes located at the edge which is between two triangle elements, there may be two different values (u-, v-; u+, v+).
For a node located at the vertex which is used by several triangle elements, the velocity at this node has several different values.
When I show the values of all nodes by ArcMap, I want to know that what on earth the values of such nodes are ? The averages of all values in this node?

The numerical flow field obtained from solving the SWEs using the DG method can be visualized in several ways. One popular way to visualize the flow field is to plot the velocity vectors in a planar or 3D plot.
This can be done by plotting the velocity vectors at each node in the mesh or by interpolating the velocity field to a finer grid and then plotting the velocity vectors at each grid point.
Additionally, the pressure and vorticity fields can be visualized by plotting contour lines or by plotting a color map of the pressure or vorticity values.
Finally, animations of the flow field can be created by plotting the velocity vectors at each time step.

A common approach for dealing with the fact that a node can have multiple values of u and v is to take the average of the values. This way, you can still capture the overall trends in the data while accounting for any discrepancies that may exist at the node level. Additionally, you could also use other techniques such as interpolation to fill in the gaps between the two values.
