I need to do an experiment to examine the heart structure of an aquatic organism, to study the flow of blood through the heart. In the meantime, I need to study whether there are structurally intact blood vessels in the heart. The way I can think of is something like PCI, where you inject colored fluid into a blood vessel to see how the blood flows. I do not know if you have similar experience, if there is a better way to achieve my goal. Thank you.
There might be some less initial invasive technics as e.g., colour doppler ultrasound. That said I would see likely 4 technics to move forward with (1) colour doppler ultrasound (2) MRI (3) contrast-enhanced computed tomography (4) PET - CT. The 4 technics can be used alone or combined. The first 3 will provide information about the wall thickness and structural changes. The last one will had wall inflammation. Unfortunately I can't say if all are manageable with this kind of aquatic organism.
