In my experience, models can be 'applied' in qualitative studies, but cannot be 'tested' as testing requires more of a quantitative technique such as SEM. However, qualitative analysis can give you a thorough application of a model either from an interpretive or inductive perspective. Your themes can be built around each construct of the model. Just make sure that your initial interview schedule questions are built carefully around each model construct before data collection.
