I am working on SAR based crop classification (Sentinel-1 data). In case of some crops, the multi-date signatures are almost entirely similar which are contributing to less accuracy of crop classification. Can I use GLCM textures for crop classification? Which GLCM textures would be useful for this task??
When all three tonal images (C-HH, C-HV and C- VV) are used in a classification, accuracies are improved, but remain low (k̂ =39%). However, accuracies are improved substantially when texture features derived from the three SAR datasets are incorporated into the classification (k̂ = 78%). The results of this study demonstrate that multipolarimetric data collection and texture processing are necessary components of an overall classification strategy for agricultural crop measurement and mapping.
Safwan al-qawabah I am using Sentinel-1 data, which is not polarimetric. It has VH and VV polarizations.
