How to use insulin for stz insulin control in diabetic retinopathy mice?

I want to add additional control for STZ induced diabetic mice. I have one vehicle injected control. Can anyone help me how to generate STZ- insulin control? I would like to know how much insulin dosage should be used and the timeline?
