Dear researchers
While doing impact analysis, some shell elements are not deleted using MAT_ADD_EROSION
these elements reach very small time steps(1e-11 order) which in turn cause the analysis not to finish. trying to find a solution for this it occurred to me use use small restart to delete these elements after some time. my restart code is as below but nothing is deleted when the run continues.
can anyone help with that?

In my opinion it is not necessary to use small restart in your analysis. I think you should modify erosion criteria in your model. Probably stress or strain in those elements did not exceed limiting values that you had defined.
If it does not help, another solution is to define separate material for the problematic shell elements only, and set the time limit as an erosion criterion for them (FAILTM). In this way when the analysis time exceed the defined failure time the material will be removed.
