is it legal to upload the abstracts of my published papers in the researchersgate without the permission of the concerned journals? please clarify my doubt.
Where are you? We are all missed you so much, hope you fine.
I agree with Dr. Ian Kennedy, It is allowed to upload your abstract (only) not in RG platform only but everywhere you want without any copyright problems, beside that many trusted sites like Science Direct are always publishing abstracts only for free and in case of downloading full text paper, you have to pay. Thank you sir for your important question.
The abstract of a research paper is the teaser and the bait that draws people to read the full text of the paper. Its dessimination should be very wide so as to gain the interests of target readership audience globally. Avenues to index and popularize abstracts must be seized and utilized fully by researchers to espouse their great contributions to the global academic community. No need for permissions from journals since they all want to draw great poll of readers to traffic their websites either to freely download or subscribe full texts of those published papers.
