Norman Fellows Norman I agree with Peter. Older versions of the PDF format can cause problems. Also I upload files in separate batches to Res-Gate. -- if I upload to an unknown site I don't use the newest PDF version, I use version 6.

Thanks Lee. I'm saving website pages as PDFs - version 1.4. Can you recommend a good way of converting them to version 2 as Peter suggests?

PS What is version 6?

Norman, In general I use MS word and adobe software to create PDF's. And Apple Pages and Text apps. Each version of a PDF has different characteristics. These relate to different files uses. For example a text only PDF would have different needs than one with complex graphics used in print or web. Let me know where your files are use and the software you use.

Thanks again, Lee. OK - well, I have been creating a series of articles on the Designing Buildings website. So they start out as wikis. Typically, my articles contain text and a considerable number of images. In order to publish them on ResearchGate I save each article as a PDF (I'm using a Mac) which come out as version 1.4. I then try to upload them to RG, reducing the size of the PDF if it is too large. As you can see I have now managed to upload 5 articles. I'll start the sixth one to see how that goes.

Thanks again, Peter. I've just successfully uploaded the eighth of my articles so there must be something in the two which failed preventing them from parsing ok.

I'll take what you've said on board and see how it goes.

I tried your workaround suggestions for both documents but without success.
