I want to convert bromide to thiol. So I am planning to make a reaction between alkyl bromide with NaSH, and one possible byproduct is H2S, as what I understand from text book. H2S is highly toxic and explosive, so I am asking if anyone has any experience with this type of reaction? Would it be an idea to add some reagent to liquid seal to react with the generated H2S? Is this reaction highly selective towards the desired product? Thanks in advance.

An example of this type of reaction can be seen in the following link: https://books.google.com.sg/books?id=xx_uIP5LgO8C&pg=PA388&lpg=PA388&dq=NaSH+reaction+bromide&source=bl&ots=gn8JhmnITf&sig=VKVYumBKyFZ0iGAfcb3QLxMX8PA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiQmJK7kOLbAhULRo8KHZB2CFUQ6AEIVDAI#v=onepage&q=NaSH%20reaction%20bromide&f=false
