Is there a statistical method/tool which can be used to determine whether or not elicited emotions are the cause of the change in the behavior of the individual ?

I am currently designing an experiment in order to test how emotions influence the behaviour (performance metrics) of workers ? So far I was able to show that there is a correlation between the elicitation of certain emotions and their performance...however I would like to go a step further and demonstrate that the change in the emotional state of subjects is the CAUSE for their change in performance.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, My e-mail address: [email protected]

Thanks
