I am currently trying to find the suitable blending options to support our final year students, who conducted research for their final year project (FYP). These students are placed at various organizations related to their major. Do you have any idea how to provide support (blended learning) to these students?
The only thing that comes to my mind is Google Classroom for someone who needs to do it the easy way, Google Classroom should do just fine. Students can be easily added to a class and you could provide all support files, discussions, media etc there. Google also has a wide variety of apps for collaboration on the G-Suite which could also be of help. If it is going to be support/feedback for FYP documents, Google Apps is more than enough. I remember using a Google Doc for my Project Thesis, it helped me get comments, annotations, audio input from my supervisor back in the UK, we also used to chat when free and every communication is logged for future reference. Another idea is to use Blackboard collaborate, webex, or Skype of they are accessible to you. This way you can have the class join in at one time or if you need to meet with the groups based on their specific interest/organizations you can freely do so. If you LMS has a chat feature, that can also be useful. (These can be used in between times for class meetings) to prepare students for upcoming assignments, and to reflect upon past assignments scaffolding their learning.
If you have assignments that relate to your course, having those due every 2 weeks if possible, allows the student time to complete the assignment and continue their internships. The beauty of the assignment is that if possible relate them to their intern experience.
