I need your help please, i am trying to rehabilitate a historic masonry structure by adding a steel tie rods in order to reduce the out-of-plane of the façades.
The case study is modeled in 3D solid elements using Abaqus, instead the tie rods are considered as truss elements. The joined pictures to my message represent un simplified example of my case study.
I did a simple test by submitting a Linear Static Analysis under the gravity effect, the analysis is aborted at the First increment by displaying the following error message: Too many attempts made for this increment.
Does someone have an explanation or suggestion to resolve the problem please ?

double check the stability of your model, and the connection between the truss elements and solid elements .
since you are only running elastic analysis , such error often occurs if there is mistake in the stability of the model , either in the boundary conditions or connections.

Indeed, i double checked the model, i used an encastre as BCs (0 displacement in all directions) at the fuondations.
I selected "Tie" as constraint between the walls (master surfaces) and trusses (slave nodes) and "node to surface" as discretization method.
What do you think please ?
What kind of elements are you using? C3D8(R) and B31?
Incompatible mode elements can be used in the same mesh with regular solid elements. Generally the incompatible mode elements should be used in regions where bending response must be modeled accurately, and they should be of rectangular shape to provide the most accuracy. While these elements often provide accurate response in such cases, it is generally preferable to use structural elements (shells or beams) to model structural components.
