Hi all!
Could you please help me with understanding how I can make interview questions if there're no similar studies on this topic? I'm a graduate student and I have no experience in writing interviews. I investigate whether video gamers are better in coping with stress and decision making during extreme events (for i.e., clashes with police) and I'd like to interview 3 video gamers and 2 non-video gamers who were participants in recent protests in Belarus.

Once you have devised your opening question it is possible to conduct the entire interview with a few simple questions based on Clean Language Interviewing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_Language_Interviewing
This method has the advantage that you do not need to design questions in advance (with the high probability that they will contain your assumptions which may not match those of your interview subjects).
The disadvantage is that you will need to pay close attention during the interview to what your subjects say and select apprpriate 'clean language' questions in-the-moment. If you practice before hand you will find it is easier than it might seem at first.

There might be not many studies focusing on exactly your topic, but I'm quite sure there must be a few studies around the general theme of coping with stress and/or decisioin making in general. So I would check out these studies (probably in some psychology journals) and then adapt questions that you can identify there. Good luck!

Interview guide/protocol should contain mini tour and grand tour questions at the beginning. First develop rapport with interviewees by using ice breakers. ..make recursive refinements in interview guide until you perfect it. Try learning interview guide by heart.
