Hello,

Does anyone know how much cardiolipin (on average ) is present in one mitochondrion?

I've been searching for this information forever and I cannot seem to find much.

I ran a mass spec to detect phosphoinositides (PI)in the kidney and in the liver mitochondria. I have also measured the amounts of CL in this mass spec experiment in order to normalize the results (since the initial amount of tissue is different for kidney vs liver).

I was hoping to normalize the PI to CL and then multiply by the average amount of CL per mitochondria to get the amount of PI.

Is that something feasible or it is impossible to know how much CL is present in one mitochondria (on average)?

Thank you very much for your help!
